Andrew Wiedmeier was born on October 19, 1923, in Artas, Campbell County, South Dakota, the son of Christ and Paulina (Stadel) Wiedmeier. He attended school in Mound City, South Dakota, and then began farming.
On June 03, 1943, he married Lorraine Schneider in Herreid, South Dakota. Andy continued to farm until he enlisted in the United States Army on May 04, 1945. He was discharged on December 22, 1946, and they made their home in Java, Campbell County, South Dakota, where he continued farming.
In the early 1950's, they moved to West Fargo, North Dakota. He worked for Leo Lumber in Fargo. They moved to Valley City, North Dakota, where he managed Leo Lumber, spending time between Valley City, Hunter, and West Fargo.
In 1972, they settled in Valley City where he worked various jobs until retiring in the 1980's. Andy was a true entrepreneur. He made a lasting impression on everyone that knew him.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Valley City and was a Gideons Member of over 40 years.
Andy died at Villa Maria in Fargo on January 27, 2013, at the age of 89.
He is survived by his children, Peggy (Wally) Manning of Cody, Wyoming, Randy (Dawn) Wiedmeier of Selah, Washington, Wayne (Lori) Wiedmeier of Fargo, and David (JoDee) Wiedmeier of Bismarck, North Dakota; grandchildren, Megan, Emma, Alec, and Erin; and sisters, Ann Fisher and Delphia (Norman( Van Vugt both of Huron, South Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Hilda, Martha, Pauline, and Emelia; and a brother, Fred Bauer.
