Her memorial service will be September 26,2015 at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff. Millie was born October 10, 1922 in Lincoln to Henry and Anna (Fox) Reitz. She moved to Gering in the spring of 1926 where she grew up on the family farm in the Gering Valley. She married William A. Griess on January 3rd, 1943. After William passed away in 1946, Millie raised their only child. Millie was a loving and very strong mother.. The majority of her career was spent at Hartungs and Associated Grocers. Millie was an avid sports fan and instilled a love of the Huskers and the Broncos in her family. She was well known for her amazing German food and especially her caramels, which her grandkids would often share with their friends. Millie’s humor and spirit along with her strong sense of family is what made her family grow and succeed. Her spirit will live on in her five great-grandchildren whom she loved and cherished. Each of them of has a piece of her in their personality that keeps their parents on their toes. She was preceded in death by her husband William, her parents, and her brothers and sisters; Henry, John, Ed, Catherine, Herman, Helen, Rich, Bob, and LeRoy.
