1900 Federal census, John Eva (age 49), wife Martha (age 34) and children William J (age 18), Edward T (age 16) and Rose E (age 11) were living in Denver, Arapahoe County, Colorado.
1910 Federal census, John Eva (age 59, married) was living in Grant, Jefferson County, Colorado. He was a farmer. His wife was not enumerated with him on the census record.
John Eve, 71 years of age, a farmer living on Ralston Creek, was founf dead in his home last Wednesday. Coroner Woods was called and decided that death was due to heart trouble. The man had apparently been dead for twenty-four hours. Eva came to Colorado from Cornwall, England, in 1859, and settled at Central City where he engaged in mining. For a number of years he worked in the Cripple Creek district. Deceased was a charter member of Rocky Mountain lodge, Foresters of America, and served one term as grand chief ranger of the Colorado Juisdiction. The funeral was held from Woods & Sanders chapel Sunday with interment at Arvada cemetery. Deceased is survived by his widow and two children.
