Martha M. Wentz was born March 8, 1906, in Streeter, to George and Margaretha (Graf) Wentz. She attended school in Streeter. On Oct. 30, 1930, she and Harry George were married in the E.U.B. Church at Streeter. Martha and Harry lived in Steele from 1930 until 1968, where they worked together at the Bank of Steele until they retired and sold the bank. Following retirement, they moved to Bismarck. Martha was very active in her church teaching Sunday school and directing choir. She served in many civic capacities including treasurer of the city of Steele for 14 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a charter member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Martha is survived by her brothers and sisters, Ed (Bev) Wentz, Sun City, Ariz., Ione Schwartzwalter, Arnegard, Ray (Lois) Wentz, Jamestown, LeRoy (Velma) Wentz, Lemmon, S.D., and LoEtta Feigert, Bismarck; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
The family of Martha would like to thank everyone who offered condolences and prayers. We especially want to thank the wonderful staff at St. Vincent's Care Center for the loving care they bestowed upon Martha.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials to St. Vincent's Care Center, 1021 North 26th Street, Bismarck, N.D. 58501, in appreciation for their care of Martha.
