WISHEK – Funeral services for Dorothy Sayler, 76, Wishek, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2000 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek, with Rev. Donald Hansen and Rev. Allen Wagner officiating. She died March 10 at a Bismarck hospital.
Dorothy was born April 14, 1923 on the family farm, near Mercer, the daughter of John and Magdalena (Liab) Blatter. She grew up on the farm and received her education in rural Mercer schools.
Dorothy married Frank Forderer on Nov. 13, 1946 in Mercer. The couple resided on several farms near Braddock, Steele and Wing. They later moved to Sterling, where Dorothy was employed as a school cook. Following Mr. Forderer's death in 1967, Dorothy moved to Bismarck with her family and did domestic work.
On Sept. 23, 1978, Dorothy married Albert H. Sayler in Wishek. They lived on the Sayler family farm, southwest of Wishek, until Dec. 12, 1999, when they moved into Wishek.
Dorothy was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, rural Zeeland, and the St. Andrew's Ladies Aid.
Survivors include her husband, Albert H. Sayler, Wishek; three sons, Richard (Ellen) Forderer of Bismarck, Larry (Darlene) Forderer of Mandan, and Arnold Forderer of Spokane, Wash.; a daughter, Linda (Art) Fried of Spokane; nine grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine (William) Graf of Bismarck; and two brothers, Ted (Esther) Blatter of Wilton, and Alfred (Darlene) Blatter of Mandan.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Forderer, and her parents, John and Magdalena Blatter.
Pallbearers are Jesse Forderer, Darrin Forderer, Art Forderer, Elmer Wagner, Eddie Will and Allen Blatter.
Interment services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, is in charge of arrangements.
