Alfred Edward Rominger was the youngest of ten known children of Michael Rominger (1780-1824) and Christina Ebert Rominger (1782-1844). Alfred married Elizabeth Starr (some records show Styers) on 06 Jan 1845 at Stokes County (present day Forsyth County), North Carolina. In 1850 the parents and their first two children were living at Watauga County, North Carolina with Alfred listed as a farmer. In 1860 the parents and seven children were living at Johnson County, Tennessee with all the children listed as born in North Carolina and Alfred listed as a shoemaker. In 1870 the family (parents and seven children) were living at Laurel Creek Township, Watauga County, North Carolina with Alfred listed as a farmer. In 1880 the parents and two children were still listed at Laurel Creek Township, Watauga County, North Carolina with Alfred listed as a farmer. Alfred was known to have also served as a Methodist Minister.
Alfred and Elizabeth were the parents of ten known children, eight boys and two girls. Nine of the ten children lived to maturity.
Links to Alfred's parents, wife, and eight of his ten children, I don't know where the other two children are buried. The two children missing are:
James Andrew Rominger, born c1853 and died c1883-1900. James married Mary Hampton (1849-1937) and had six children. Mary was a widow in Mitchell County, North Carolina in 1900 and ended up in Washington state.
Thomas H. Rominger, born c1858. Married Martha M. (Castle?).
