EASTLAND- Jessie Wiest, 79, passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 4, 2006. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the First Baptist Church of Eastland. Interment followed at Hope Cemetery in Henrietta with Dr. Shawn Brewer officiating. Services held under the direction of the Summers-Bakker Funeral Home.
Jessie Genevieve Ryan was born February 15, 1927 in Bellevue, Texas to Charles and Clemmie (Colvin) Ryan. She graduated from Bellevue High School.
On January 9, 1946 she married Albert Wiest in Henrietta, Texas. Jessie was a homemaker and helped Albert run the family farm. Later in life, she was employed by Crisp Motor Company of Henrietta until her retirement. She was a committed Christian and a member of First Baptist Church of Eastland.
Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sisters, Georgie Wetsel, Vera Spears, Imogene McCrary, Beatrice Riddle, and Ila Lazelle Ryan, and her brothers, James Ryan, Frank Ryan, and Arvid Ryan.
Jessie is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Mike Perry of Eastland; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Linda Wiest of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Brian Perry and Shelley Rinehart of Eastland, Justin Wiest and wife, Kim of Farmville, N.C., and Michelle Trammell and husband, Joseph of Iowa Park. Jessie has great-grandchildren, Jahue, Laci, and Brayden; step-great-grandchildren, Shannon, Crystal, and Harley. Jessie is also survived by a sister-in-law, Ester Wiest of Henrietta; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers serving were Tim Dame, De Gordon, Bobby Cagle, Ron Cagle, Don Bradsahw, and Brad Stephenson.
