Funeral services for Reuben Adam Burbach were held from the United Presbyterian church Saturday, August 1, at 2 pm with the Rev. A.P.Kidwell officiating. Burial was in the Sutton, Nebr. cemetery. Mrs. Gilbert Barnell and Mrs. Stanley Allen sand "In the Garden" and "Ivory Palaces" with Mrs. Calvin Lepp, organist. Pallbearers were Ray Beacom, Delmond Faeh, Ralph Hensley, Grover Scherff, Arthur Grosshans and Victor Grosshans. Honorary pallbearers were Ed Traver, Lyle Dettman, Harry Boulton, William McLean, Harold Gleason and Glen Pettigrew. Reuben Burbach, son of Adam and Dorothy Burbach, was born on a farm north of Sutton, Nebr., November 9, 1908. He died at the Litzenberg Memorial hospital in Central City Wednesday, July 29 at the age of 55 years, 8 months and 20 days. He grew to manhood living on several farms near Sutton. He attended the Sutton high school. He was confirmed in the First Reformed church in Sutton. June 7, 1939, he was united in marriage with Beatrice Fenske. The first six years of their married life was spent in farming north of Stockham and from there they moved to Aurora. In 1948 they moved to a farm north of Central City. In 1951 he went into the oil business, later establishing the Burbach Oil Co., adjacent to the Night & Day cafe. Mr. Burbach was a member of the United Presbyterian church of Central City and the Knights of Phythias lodge. Besides his wife, Beatrice, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Cantrell of Central City; a son, Paul, at home; and one grandchild, Richard Cantrell; a sister, Mrs. Francis Steele of North Hollywood, Cal; and a host of relative sand friends.
