They moved to a farm purchased from John Leahy on March 13, 1879. It was known as the David Leahy Homestead.
He was naturalized 24 Nov 1880.
In the fall of 1892 they moved to Butte, Nebraska, where Jacob was born the following year, on August 30, 1893. Three years later they moved back to their farm. Here they had a daughter, Christine, and two sons, August and Julius.
Christian heard that land was cheap around Kramer, North Dakota. He sold his farm and purchased a section near Kramer, North Dakota, in 1903.
In 1923 they moved back to Tripp, South Dakota, where they purchased a home south of the school. Here they remained until Katherina died, March 17, 1925. Christian then made his home with his son, Stephan, until death after long and severe suffering, at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 23 days.
