Jacob Whisler married Sarah Zook (Zug) on June 3, 1856 in Illinois. He was a River Brethern. Jacob died while visiting Stryker, Ohio, leaving his widow with four small children. She went back to Pennsylvania after his death. Their children were: Elizabeth Ann, George, Simon, and Ella Eldora Whisler. When Sarah Whisler married Joseph Lehman, they moved in Kansas in 1889. Remboldt of rural Gackle, died at Trinity Hospital where he had been a patient for a month. Funeral services were held Sunday at the First Congregational Church in Gackle with Elder H. I. Jarnes, pastor of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Jamestown, officiating. Burial was in the Gackle Cemetery. Born April 11, 1954, at Gackle, Kevin attended the Gackle public school and was a member of the third grade class. Due to illness, he left school last March 14, and two days later was admitted to the University Hospital in Minneapolis for treatment. After his return from Minneapolis, he entered Trinity Hospital periodically. He is survived by his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Ed C. Remboldt; two brothers and two sisters, Clyde Remboldt, Gackle; Clayton Remboldt and Mrs. Lloyd Veil (Arlene), Lincoln, Neb.; and Twyla Remboldt, at home; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Christ Remboldt and Edward Hehn, all of Gackle. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1959. The honorary pallbearers were Thomas Tracy, Dwight Erickson, Joel Zenker, Dean Hehn, Myron Suko, and Roy Meyer. Active pallbearers were Tyler Lang, Quentin Schmierer, Roger Maier, and Michael Dockter. He attended rural school in Alexander Township and grew up in the area where he helped on the family farm. He entered the U.S. Army in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1957. He returned home and started farming. He married Carol J. Olson on June 25, 1961, at Climax Lutheran Church in Climax, Minn. They lived on a farm northwest of Gackle from 1961 to 1966, then moved to a farm 5 miles southeast of Medina, N.D. In 1976, they moved to a farm 9 1/2 miles northeast of Gackle. In 1984, they moved into Gackle, and he started Remboldt Construction Co., which he operated until his death. She died in 1997. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Gackle, until it closed and a current member of Dakota Conference. He is survived by three sons, Terry and Tom, both Gackle, and Tim (Amy), Eldridge, N.D.; a daughter, Tammy (Dave) Kline, Valley City, N.D.; a sister, Donna (Willis) Seibold, Sykeston, N.D.; and two stepgrandchildren, Valley City. In 1998 he entered Central Dakota Village, where he lived for a short time before entering Hi-Acres Manor. He was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church, served as deacon at the church and served on the township board. They lived near Cleveland, N.D., and later near Gackle, N.D. They later moved to Alexander Township, northeast Gackle, where they farmed until retiring in 1976. In 1986 they moved into Jamestown. He died in January 1993. In February 2000 she entered Central Dakota Nursing Home, Jamestown. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Jamestown. She was the Sabbath school superintendent and a Dorcas leader and teacher in the Gackle SDA Church. She is survived by a daughter, Donna (Willis) Seibold, Sykeston, N.D.; a son, Roger, Gackle; a sister, Martha Haas, Jamestown; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
