She was 88. Born in Lawn, PA on December 2, 1925 to the late Sherk and Maude Stoner, she moved to Mount Joy in 1945 when she married her husband, Adin H. Mumma, who survives her. They owned and operated Mumma's Hardware Store from 1945 until 1966. After the business was sold, she worked at Donegal Industries and Hesteco. She was a gifted seamstress and often sewed dresses for her daughters and items for the needy. Deeply committed to the welfare of children, she hosted Fresh Air children in her home from 1948 until 1973 and served as a Fresh Air Fund regional director for many years. She was a member of Cross Roads Brethren in Christ Church. Over the years, she was active in her church and served in women's ministries as well as taught Sunday School. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and someone who continually opened her home to those in need. She is also survived by four children: Carole A., wife of Ron Maley of Landisville; A. David, husband of Jade Yang of Palmyra; Heather J., wife of Dr. Jeffrey Harner of York and Melody A., wife of Richard Mountsier of Harrisburg. Additionally, she is survived by a sister, Loretta Walmer of Lebanon, PA; a brother, Glenn Stoner of Palmyra, PA; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Verbraken of Mesa, Ariz., and Sonya Voorhies of Show Low, Ariz.; four sons, Sam of Russell, Donald Jr. of Independence, Mo., Chris “Whitey” of Mesa and Dwight of Phoenix; a brother, Elmer Weigel of Hays; three sisters, Ruby Leiker and Georgine Keberlein, both of Hays, and Elaine Martin of Independence, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Russell. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Jo passed away at her home in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on Tuesday January 7, 2014 at the age of 81. Jo grew up in South Dakota and graduated from Huron High School with the class of 1950. She went on the further her education by attending Huron College. Jo Ann Feiock and Terry Roger Cotton were united in marriage on December 23, 1969 in Miami, Oklahoma and had recently celebrated 44 years of marriage. For a brief time, Jo worked as a teacher and business woman but she will best remembered for her work as loving mother and grandmother. In her spare time, Jo enjoyed sewing, reading and cooking. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 18th at the St. Lawrence Community Church. Visitation will be Friday, January 17th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service all at the St. Lawrence Community Church. Burial will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery. JoAnn Kellogg was born on September 4, 1937 in Gregory, South Dakota, the daughter of Bernard and Leona (Ryan) McElroy. She began her walk with the Lord in March 1956. She married Allen Kellogg on April 21, 1956. They worked on a couple of ranches West River before attending Bible School at Briercrest Bible Institute, Saskatchewan, Canada. During the summers they taught in several Daily Vacation Bible Schools and worked at Victory Center Bible Camp in the Black Hills and then at Fort Pierre. JoAnn was a teacher's aide, alongside of Allen while he taught in several country schools. They went to Alaska for a year as house parents working for Lazy Mountain Children Home. JoAnn drove bus for St. Lawrence and Miller Schools and Harrold Public School and was a teacher's aide at the Millerdale Colony for many years. JoAnn worked beside Allen from the beginning when they purchased the farm in 1970. She spent many hours in the tractor and milking dairy cows. They truly had a partnership in their farming business. She was a member of the St. Lawrence Community Church. She has taught Sunday School, told the story of "Sunday School Charlie" for many years at Vacation Bible Schools at St. Lawrence, served on the Christian Education, Missions and Pastoral Search Committees at her church. In 2006 she went on a missionary trip to Guatemala. In 2011 they were inducted into Sunshine Bible Academy's Hall of Fame for their years of support. She is survived by daughter, Cindy (Wayne) Goodrich of Ramsey, MN; son, Kevin (Sandy) of St. Lawrence; brother, Kevin (Teresa) McElroy of Finley, ND; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Adam) Putnam, Joseph (Annie) Huber, Travis and Tyler Goodrich, Jaden Kellogg and Trent Goodrich.
