Taken from family records and transcribed by Michael Bowen, MRB, #47351043. Katharina Lehr was born in Cassel, Glueckstal, Russia on July 9, 1880, the daughter of Andreas and Carolina (Wahl) Lehr. She arrived in America with her family on October 12, 1880 as an infant. Andreas and Carolina with seven children (Friedrich, Johann, Heinrich, Christine, Albina, Jacob and Katharina) departed Hamburg, Germany on September 29, 1880 aboard the SS Herder. The Lehr family settled in Hanson County, South Dakota. Katharina married Peter Reich about 1903, and they settled in North Dakota. They had these children: Ida, Mrs. Steve Stavou (1903-1989), Emma, Mrs. Thomas McGrath (1906-1992), Lydia, Mrs. Chester Eldredge (1908-1992), Barbara (1909-?), Elsie, Mrs. Raymond Harvey (1912-1971), John Reich (1914-1970) and Fred Reich (1916-1997). She died June 11, 1921 at age 40 and is buried at Restlawn Memorial Gardens at Huron, South Dakota.

Taken from his obituary and family records and transcribed by Michael Bowen, MRB, #47351043. Peter Lehr was born on 5 March 1881 near Emery, South Dakota. Here he spent his childhood and went to school. On 30 September 1902 he married Sophie Triebwasser and worked at farming until 1906 when they moved near Alpena. In 1909 he moved into the town of Alpena, where he took over a business and later had a laundry business. He became ill about a year ago. In May of this year, he became very ill and was brought to the hospital. In February 1932 he gave his heart to God and to his end he was faithful. His end came on 7 June at 3:30 o'clock in the afternoon at St. Joseph Hospital in Huron, South Dakota. He was 68, 3 months and 2 day of age. The deceased was a member of the Bethlehem Congregational Community in Alpena. He leaves behind his bereaved wife, four sons, Edward (1903-1979), Huron, SD, burial unknown, Herold and John of Alpena and Leonard of Kalamazoo, MI, four daughters, Mrs. Manuel Mogck, Huron, SD, Mrs. W. Dolesche in Alpena, Lucy, Mrs. Leslie Elsworth (1909-1987), Denver, CO, burial unknown and Mrs. P.H. Lund, Alpena, 21 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. One daughter Anna, Mrs. Herman Brandenburg, preceded her father in 1932. He was buried in the Alpena Cemetery. Taken from, Der Kirchenbote (Christian Messenger), Fort Morgan, CO.

Information from Johannes Sayler History pg 33, by Verine Reimann Information from the McLean County, ND Heritage Bk pg 295 Gottlieb orginally came to Ohio in 1872 Gottlieb and his wife Christina started their family on his homestead in Hutchinson County near Menno, SD in 1873. They moved to Longfellow Township, McLean County, ND with a family of 8 children in 1905 and settled 4 miles west of Underwood, ND. A small shell of a house was built first and as the farm buildings were completed, this house later became the main grainary.
Gottlieb's birth record can be found in the St Petersburg, Russia records for Johannestal in the Rohrbach Parish of South Russia on LDS Microfilm # 1884103/2 Pg 641 Reg 27.
Gottlieb and his wife Christina are listed in the 1910 McLean County, ND Census records along with their children, Henry age 22, Gustaf age 20, Albert age 19, Reinholt age 14, and Juluis age 12. The record says that Gottlieb Immigrated in 1872 and Christina immigrated in 1873.

Information from McLean County, ND Heritage Book pg 536 Fresh out of the Russian Army, Philip ventured to the Unites States in the early 1900's. He settled first in Menno, SD but soon migrated to McLean County, ND area. After his marriage to Katharina Sayler, a neighbor girl, they began farming her homestead claim 7 miles north of Garrison, ND. He they raised their family four children. After the death of his wife, he married a widow lady, Rosina (Fauth) Oster with 3 children. They added four more children to the family. He and his second wife moved to Garrison in 1928 where Phillip worked in the coal mine. After the death of his wife in 1944 Phillip moved to the Pioneer Home in Wilton in 1954 and lived there until his death in 1961.

Phillip LANDSIEDEL born 16 September 1876 in Neuberg, Grossliebental, Odessa, South Russia Phillip Jacob LANDSIEDEL (1836-1906) and Barbara ROTH (1838-____).
Phillip at age 23 along with the Jacob OSTER family, sailed from the port of Bremen, Germany on the 16th of April 1901 and arrived at Ellis Island, New York aboard the SS "Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse" on the 24th of April.
His final destination recorded as Scotland, Bon Homme, South Dakota to join his step-brother Jacob SCHMIERER. The ship's manifest also revealed that Phillip had $20.00 in his pocket when he arrived in America.
Phillip married Katharina SAYLER on the 24th of April 1904 in Garrison, McLean County, North Dakota. The couple was blessed with 4 children; Edward, Albert, Gottlieb and Katherine - Bio by DG Bender.

BIRTH: Recorded as Schanbach/Esslingen - Wourttemberg, Germany by Stumpp. Dianne Ladd could find no Wolfs in the microfilm of the church records ofSchanbach, Germany. Gwen Pritzkau found the family in Rountzenheim, Alsace, France; FHL #753723. It was a Catholic village so they attended church in the neighbouring village of Roppenheim (see films #756807 and #756808). Born 25 Nov 1770 in Rountzenheim, Bischweiler, Alsace, France which is recorded as Rountzenheim, Bas-Rhin, France in FHL. Age is listed as 33 in 1803. Birth also listed as 1772.
AKA: Surname also spelled Wolf. Given name also spelled Matthias.
RESIDENCE: Left during the height of the French Revolution and walked to Russia with the following families: Becker, Metzger, Naas and Dockter. They left by the light of the moon taking all they could with them. Matthias Wolf, wife and children came to Kassel, South Russia to settle in 1808. The German colony of Kassel was settled that year. It was a Lutheran settlement of 8,014 hectares in area. In 1926 there were still over 2,000 people there.
