Harold Kutter, 96, passed into new life on May 22, 2013, in Mendota Lutheran Home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John's Lutheran Church on the Hill in rural Hollowayville with the Rev. Kim Lee-Brown officiating. Burial will be at Peru City Cemetery following a luncheon in the church.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday in the church. Hurst Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Mr. Kutter was born Nov. 29, 1916, in La Salle to Gottlieb and Jennie (Reese) Kutter. He married Elaine R. Peters on Sept. 10, 1941. They are now reunited in heaven, as she passed away April 11, 2013.
He graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School, class of 1935. Mr. Kutter retired from farming in 1966 and then worked for Sundstrand Corp., retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church on the Hill. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, manicuring his lawn, fishing and playing cards with friends.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, two daughters, Judy (Lloyed) Marlar of Bolingbrook and Lynn (Robert) Kinney of Rockford; one sister-in-law, Arlet Lunn of Stroudsburg, Pa.; brother-in-law, Dale Peters of Mendota; nephew, Barry (Madelon) Lunn of Saylorsburg, Pa.; one stepgranddaughter; three stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Kutter; an aunt, Hazel Reese; and brother-in-law, Robert Lunn.
Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church on the Hill or American Cancer Society.
