John Hoffman, 85, .Grover, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, at his home.
He was born July 28, 1902, to Henry and Katherine (Wagner) Hoffman in Longenfeldt, Russia.
On Jan. 13, 1929, he married Emily Rothman in La Salle.
Mr. Hoffman came to the United States with his parents in 1907, homesteading in Montana. In 1917, the family moved to the Sligo area. He was a farmer and rancher, retiring in 1972 and moving to Grover.
He was a member of Farm Bureau and attended the Grover Community Church.
Survivors are his wife, Emily of Grover;. two daughters, Mrs. Sam (Lucille) Meier of Denver, and Mrs. John (Gary) Laney of. Plentywood, Mont.; a son, Bill of Grover; a sister, Mrs. Amelia Houska of Fort Collins; a brother, ‘Jake of Grover; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Henry and George, are deceased.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Macy Chapel. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Contributions may be made to the Grover Community Church or Hospice Inc. of Weld County in care of Macy Chapel.
