SPRIGG TOWNSHIP– A Kentucky man is dead after a deer crashed through his windshield.
The two-vehicle crash happened just before 9 p.m. Friday on US 52 in Adams County, near milepost one.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Jack Cornell, 56, of Manchester, Ohio, was driving a 1993 Ford Escort westbound when he struck a deer that ran onto the road. The deer flew into the path of an eastbound 1998 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by 70-year-old Clell Noble of Mt. Olivet, Ky.
The deer went through Noble's windshield and hit him. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Manchester Emergency Medical Services.
A passenger in Noble's truck, Gerardo Navarro of West Union, Ohio, was not injured.
Cornell and two passengers in his car, Jason Cornell and Jennette Cornell, both from Manchester, were not injured.
All drivers and passengers in both vehicles were wearing seat belts.
