Dennis resided in the Tenmile area all his life. He married Bonnie Zimbelman, the love of his life in 1968.
Dennis spent his life working in the woods first as a choker setter, then a faller/bucker and for the past several years working for Lance Corp running a feller/buncher machine until his retirement in 2009.
Dennis passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family, Jen (McCool) Toll and his dog, Wickett.
He is survived by two children: Jeri Lynn Baskin and Dennis Lee Payne II; brother, Keith Payne, sisters: Wilma Rhodes and Teresa Case; grandchildren: Skylar; Courtney; Alyssa; Jace and Jenna; and many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Bonnie.
A celebration of his life for family and friends will be held at the Winston Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. In respect to his lifestyle and profession, hickory shirts are encouraged but optional. Interment will be at the Tenmile Cemetery.

Dennis heiratete Zimbelman, Bonnie Faye am 9 Nov 1968 in Roseburg, Douglas County, Oregon, USA. Bonnie (Tochter von Zimbelman, Ivan Russell und Zuber, Marion Olive) wurde geboren am 11 Dez 1950 in Oakes, Dickey County, North Dakota, USA; gestorben am 4 Aug 2007 in Winston, Douglas County, Oregon, USA; wurde beigesetzt in Tenmile Cemetery, Tenmile, Douglas County, Oregon, USA.
