Young German who married Squire Boone's eldest child. Since he was not a Quaker, but a "worldling," the wedding was held outside the circle of the Friends, and the Boones became the subject of controversy, which resulted in the family's moving from Pennsylvania to Rowan Co., NC (converted to Baptist faith). He was born about 1720, place and parentage unknown. He was apprenticed to Squire Boone, as was his brother, George. Maybe had a sister named Hannah. John was reputed to be killed by Indians about 1782.
