Services were conducted today in New Mexico, for Mrs. Donna EYTCHESON, 85, former Fulton resident, who died Monday in New Mexico. Mrs. Eytcheson was born in December, 1890, in Liberty township to James A. and Henrietta MORRIS MARSH. Her marriage was in 1907 in Fulton to Elmer EYTCHESON. He died in 1965. Mrs. Eytcheson was a lifetime resident of the Fulton community and a member of the Fulton United Methodist church. She had resided the past two years with her son in New Mexico. Surviving with her son, Ernest [EYTCHESON], are a daughter, Mrs. Olive UNDERWOOD, New Mexico; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. Two daughters, four brothers and three sisters preceded in death.

Funeral services for James A. MARSH, 91, Fletcher's Lake, who died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Elmer EYTCHESON, Thursday will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Ditmire chapel at Fulton with the Rev. Robert PRINZING, pastor of the Fulton Baptist church, officiating. Mr. Marsh had been ill two weeks. The son of Anthony and Elizabeth McCOY MARSH, he was born Aug. 11, 1856, near New Waverly. He was married April 7, 1881 to Henrietta MORRIS. He lived in the Fulton vicinity most of his life and was a farmer. Survivors, besides the wife, include seven children, Clarence [MARSH] of Akron, Ora [MARSH] of Rochester, Marion [MARSH] of Michigan, Floyd [MARSH] of Fulton, Mrs. Elmer EYTCHESON of Fulton, Mrs. Clyde LEAVELL of Fulton, Mrs. Charles WAGONER of Rochester. A sister, Mrs. Etta PONTIOUS of Warren, also survives. The body will be taken from the Ditmire chapel to the residence Saturday afternoon where friends may call.

Mrs. Henrietta MARSH, 89, died at 11 a.m. Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clyde LEAVELL, one mile southwest of Fulton. She had been critically ill for the past two weeks. She was born April 20, 1862 in Miami county, the daughter of Anthony MORRIS and Mary Jane (DUNN) MORRIS. Practically all of her life was lived in Liberty township. On April 7, 1881, she was married to James A. MARSH, who died Jan. 18, 1949. Mrs. Marsh was a member of the Fletchers Lake Methodist church. Survivors are four sons, Clarence [MARSH], Akron; Ora [MARSH], Rochester; Floyd [MARSH], home; Marion [MARSH], of Michigan; three daughters, Mrs. Elmer EYTCHESON, Mrs. Clyde LEAVELL, of Fulton; Mrs. Charles WAGONER, Rochester; a brother George MORRIS, Rochester; two sisters, Mrs. Charles RIFE, Kewanna; Mrs. David WOLFE, Peru; twenty-four grandchildren and forty-five great-grandchildren. One great-great-grandchild and a daughter, Mrs. Jerome HAZLETT preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Fulton E. U. B. church with Rev. M. E. REED in charge. Burial will be in the Fulton cemetery. The body will be returned from the Ditmire Funeral Home to the Leavell residence Saturday morning, where friends may call.

When traveling to Kentucky to visit the graves of my many family members in 1980. I visited Port Royal Cemetery, it was highly overgrown, almost up to your waste in the older section of the cemetery.
Sometime in 1990-1991 the Cemetery Association allowed the caretaker, to use a bush hog to push all the headstones in the older section of the cemetery into piles, to allow for the "thistle" to be cut, and grass to grow. This was approved by the Cemetery Association (per telephone call in March 2006 with Vicki Johnson, Member of the Board of Directors for the Cemetery Association who said that this was how it was done. She also informed me that they have "no record" of the locations of any of the graves in the cemetery, even though they were continuing to sell graves there. She also told me that it was their intent to create a "new location" for this headstone and reset them. As of August 2016, these headstone are still in piles and have not been reset. I contacted the Kentucky Attorney General and filed a complaint, and suggest that others do the same). Several of these headstones were destroyed or broken during this act.
George Jones, a Revolutionary War Soldier, were among those graves that were displaced due to this "deliberate" distruction by the Cemetery Association.
